Join us as we explore various plants and herbs of Africa and the African diaspora. All of the plants discussed will be plants and foods that have been grown here by Tucsonan growers, which means YOU can grow them too. We’ll discuss how to grow them, how to use them, their benefits, etc. AND there will be a giveaway!!

Space is limited so registration is required.

*As this program is specific to plants and foods of the African Diaspora, priority will go towards Black and African participants. We ask that if you want to participate and are not of this community that you consider two things:

1. Wait until closer to the event date to register as space is limited

2. That you offer a donation to go towards the seeds and information that will be shared.

This program is focusing on reclamation of ancestral foods and their uses, especially for Black Americans whose history was stolen and hidden from them.

All participants will receive seeds, info, and fresh produce (harvest permitting). The foods will come from traditional Black American diet (okra, melon, peppers, etc.) and foods that are directly from W. Africa (egusi melon, efo shoko, etc.)

This program is offered in collaboration with Mission Garden. With support from the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona Pro Neighborhoods Endowment Fund.
