These gourds are typically grown to be used for bird houses, vases, etc. They’re hearty plants that love to sprawl. You harvest the gourds once the vine is hard near the top of the gourd. Then you allow them to dry, for several months, you’ll know they’re ready when you shake them and hear the seeds moving around. The gourds are generally around 12 inches in length but can vary in size depending on when in the season they come.
